Project Overview
Extreme Plumbing & Gas was proud to be involved in this stunning architectural new build in Te Arai, delivering the complete plumbing and gas fitting package from the ground up.
Working alongside Green Build Projects, our team managed every stage of the installation, from under-slab plumbing and drainage through to pipe-out, final fixture installation and commissioning.
The home features a beautifully designed kitchen, scullery, laundry and three bathrooms, all requiring careful planning and precise installation to complement the architectural design and high-end finishes.
The project also included the installation of two mains pressure electric hot water cylinders, strategically positioned at opposite ends of the home to minimise hot water delivery times and improve everyday convenience.
Additional works included the installation of water pumps, filtration systems and an LPG gas fireplace, providing a complete plumbing and gas solution tailored to the property.

Challenges
One of the standout aspects of this project was the exceptional planning and preparation undertaken before construction began.
Unlike many new builds, where site conditions and changing layouts can present challenges, this project was extremely well organised from the outset.
Accurate string lines identifying all internal wall positions, along with established external boxing, provided reliable reference points for our under-slab plumbing installation. This allowed our team to measure and position pipework with precision, ensuring services came through the centre of the timber-framed walls exactly where required.
Being an Auckland-based plumbing company working in Te Arai also required careful scheduling and communication. Close coordination with the builder, interior designer and homeowners ensured each stage was completed at the appropriate time, reducing unnecessary travel and maintaining a smooth construction programme.
The result was an efficient installation process with minimal disruption or rework.

Attention to detail and early collaboration were key to achieving the high-quality finish throughout this home.
Before beginning the plumbing pipe-out stage, we arranged a detailed site walkthrough with Green Build Projects, the tiler and the homeowner. Rather than simply installing pipework to standard measurements, we took the time to discuss and confirm the finer details of every bathroom installation, including:
- Exact shower mixer positions and installation heights.
- Vanity heights and basin mixer locations.
- Shower rail positioning to suit the homeowners’ preferences.
- Alignment of tapware with grout lines and tile centres.
- Individual requirements to ensure fixtures were positioned for both practicality and visual appeal.
Working directly with the tiler allowed us to establish the finished tile layouts before positioning our plumbing fittings. Where appropriate, mixers and other fixtures were centred within individual tiles or aligned with grout lines to achieve a balanced, seamless finish.
These small details make a significant difference in a high-end architectural home. Involving the homeowners throughout this process also gave them the opportunity to personalise fixture heights and locations to suit their needs.
